In Class: Today I introduced your next project!!!


You will soon be giving a lesson on part of the constitution to a group of elementary school students.
Your job will be to become an expert on your given topic, and then to PREPARE and DELIVER a lesson on that material.
Make sure your lesson answers the two provided questions.
Anything else you cover in your lesson and any way to convey the material is entirely up to you and your group, provided you strive to help the elementary school students to be active participants in your lesson.

**today was the research stage of your project!!!!! You will be presenting to 5th graders on MONDAY OCTOBER 7TH 

We went over THE ROAD TO THE CONSTITUTION---- if you need a refresher watch this video :)

** CAP point project opportunity: Monday (23rd) at 7:00 pm there will be an open forum at the school district building about the bond! We determined to up the point value for this project to 70 :)

Journal #8: Draw the Utah State flag (no cheating..... draw from memory :))

In Class: Today you got into groups and began creating your own countries! You worked together building a history, selecting your system of government as well as the economic system.  We will begin playing against each other on Monday wahoo!

Homework: Make sure that your packets are all finished up as we will turn it in next week

Journal #7: Do you get an allowance? How does that work?

In Class: Today you took a quiz over government systems (if you were absent, come see me when you return)

We also looked at Economic Systems---- you filled out page 17 (yellow sheet in your packet) if you were absent you may get these notes from a friend OR go through the PowerPoint found under the Unit 1 tab (right side of the blog)

You also selected 2 economic systems and researched the pros/cons of each system

Homework: Get thinking about your CAP points! You need to have 100 points finished by OCTOBER 11.  You may look at my list of ideas found under course documents or you may propose your own ideas to me :)

A schoolboard meeting is coming up on September 19th here at PHS at 7:00pm that you may attend and do a write-up for 60 points

2.What two things does the Declaration say we may do if the government isn’t protecting these rights?

3.What kind of government does Jefferson recommend?


In Class: DRAGONS! no really..... you worked together with your groups learning about differing governing systems in the world (pgs. 15-16) yellow pages in your packet.

1. Define all terms (pg. 15)

2. Find a place in the world where each form of government is practiced and mark it on the map

3. In the bottom squares:
Choose 2 forms of government (one that you know the least amount & one that you are interested in learning more)
List PROS AND CONS

Homework: If you weren't able to finish in class-- make sure that it is finished by TUESDAY :)

Journal #5: (3 part)

1. Write down 3 reasons why people typically seek relationships
2. Write down 3 reasons for ENDING a relationship
3. In 3-5 steps, explain what the ideal break-up would look like

In Class: Today we looked at the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE as the ultimate break up letter--- in a nutshell

  1. Declare the reasons for any relationship.
  2. Explain the right of both parties to end the relationship if said reasons are not being met.
  3. Make your ex look like literal Satan.
  4. Declare your freedom.

    You compared Jefferson's words and rewrote them in form of a break up (purple page in your packet) as well as the reflection questions !

    Homework: Make sure the purple page is finished by Friday & do a review of the Philosophers we've covered up to this point: 
    Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Montesquieu, Jefferson
