Journal #5:
1.  What are the three rights that Jefferson lists in the Declaration of Independence?
2.  What two things does the Declaration say we may do if the government isn’t protecting these rights?
3.  What kind of government does Jefferson recommend?
4.  How well (on a scale of 1 to 5) do you know Utah?

In class: Today we wrapped-up Declaration from last class and finished the purple page in your packet. 


You worked with your groups to define and locate 8 systems of government (page 15-16 in your packets). You selected the 2 systems of government that you are most unfamiliar with and found 2 pros/2 cons for the 2 systems. If you didn’t finish this will be homework!

Homework: Next class we will have a government systems quiz! Make sure you know all 8 systems J
Also bring your wallet and/or cash $$

Journal #5:
1.  Write down 3 reasons why people typically seek relationships
2.  Write down 3 reasons for ENDING a relationship
3.  In 3-5 steps, explain what the ideal break-up would look like.

In class: Today you took a philosophers quiz- if you were absent, come talk with me so we can figure out a time for you to make this up :) We discussed the Declaration! You filled out the purple page in your packet, comparing the original text and putting it into modern day terms in the form of a break up letter. We didn't quite finish so we'll wrap this up next class 

Homework: Keep packet caught up! Take quiz (if you haven't), start thinking about CAP project!

Journal #4: Choose 2 classroom rules and describe Hobbes view:
      Attendance policy
      Homework
      Drink/bathroom breaks
      Talking
      Cell phones
      Late work
      Leaving early
      Consequences for general disobedience

In class: Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau; we discussed the State of Nature and Social Contract for each Philosopher (you filled out your green graphic organizer; if you were absent, make sure you get these notes from a friend when you return!) We didn't quite finish Rousseau, so we will wrap this up next class

Homework: Review State of nature/social contract definitions as well as philosophers views prior to next class period!
